Ear worms & Headaches

Oh my goodness no, not that kind of ear worm. *shivers*.  Good grief. Although, that would explain the head ache. Eh.

No, I’m talking this kind of ear worm.

A few posts ago it was a line from this little diddy,

This morning it was, of all things, the ‘chorus’ from ‘rapper’ Chamilioniare’s (@_@) ‘song’, Riddin’ Dirty (sorry, no link or video sharing – you can look it up if you’re so inclined).  Having heard it once on the radio at some point Saturday afternoon, I awoke today to:

They see me rollin
They hatin
Patrolling they tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
My music so loud
I’m swangin
They hopin that they gonna catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty
Tryin to catch me ridin’ dirty

Saints preserve us. What in the hell planted that in my head? Could have been the storm front moving through as it also left me with the pre-migraine pain in my left temple. I lie there in my bed, brain waves oscillating between the sharp stab of pain and those lyrics. JUST those lyrics.

In an attempt to stave off both the head ache and the insanity that rap lyrics cause me these days, I combed through my memory for a song that while equally irritating when on repeat in one’s head, wouldn’t contribute as much to the building of the headache. Guess what popped up?

Unfortunately, I discovered that my brain is adept at running two tracks simultaneously. So much so, that I had echos of both songs tap dancing around my grey matter.

And then it was time to get up and go to work. It’s going to be a long day.

  1. I usually curse myself with my weekly music posts by having that song stuck in my head for days. It’s weird when one pops out of nowhere though, just like those damn plot bunnies! 😉
