Rest and recuperation. It’s been six months since I last had the cooties. Now here I sit, the itch in my throat building toward a few coughs, sinus cavities closing up for the night as if they were storefronts bracing for a hurricane.
Unlike my last go ’round, I think I’ve got things worked out. I’m going to take the weekend off and do nothing more than eat, potty, sleep, and laundry. I’m going to do my best not to worry over the state of my job (as in how much longer it will be mine); I’m not going to worry over the state of my offspring who still seems to be reluctant to leave the nest; I’m not going to worry over papa bear who is dealing with a cold and other assorted life issues of his own. I’m not going to worry about money and my lack there of, or the things I need to pay for in their ever growing amounts (kid’s laptop bit the dust – $300+, utility bill – $200+, taxes and tax prep – $300+, dress deposit – $337, cake deposit – $100…the list continues).
No stressing this weekend over not being able to pay for B-School or having any new (or old) book sales or getting my website up or marketing or all the other to-do list things I said I was going to get done last month…this month or the weight / inches I haven’t lost or the exercise I haven’t done.
Nope. Just going to sit back, watch a few movies, drink my hot tea with honey and breathe…as best I can with a somewhat stuffy nose and the occasional cough. Okay, I may write a bit. I do have that new story idea floating around. Oh, and I might do the formatting to Aphrodite’s Twin to get it uploaded and added to my Amazon store. My window sill is growing a nice layer of mold thanks to the rains we’ve had the last few months and that can’t possibly be helping with the cough so I might as well give it a good bleaching. Yeah, but other than that, it’s all about the resting and relaxing.
Oh, going to need to put gas in the truck before work on Monday and the living room needs to be vacuumed. I know, I’ll get up early tomorrow, do my chores, run my errands, THEN I’ll settle in with a cup of hot tea…oh, but then there’s grocery shopping…
